Stephen Richards - Empowering you to become emotionally strong |
Victimization,
of any kind, can leave us feeling bitter and angry and these negative emotions
that can engulf us, affecting our relationships, sometimes our physical health
and taking away any hope of a positive outlook on life.
No
matter if you are a survivor of a crime, abuse or any other act where you were
affected beyond your control, you have the power to take the step forward and
release the negative emotions and taking back control .
The
decision to break this cycle of negativity in our lives and thoughts is a
conscious decision we must make. We
cannot do this as long as we harbor resentful feelings against those who have
hurt us.
We
cannot change the past events that have affected us, but we can change how we
react and respond to them.
Understand
that, as a survivor and no matter how bad your experience was, there is always
something positive to take away from it.
It may be an important lesson in life or a deeper understanding of
yourself or someone else. Look closely and find that positive, it will help you
move on, even though it may be painful.
By
taking this positive step forward, you will feel the benefits quickly, because
you will allow yourself to feel better.
